Soup and Sweet report, September 25th 2011.

Knockando Soup and Sweet, Archiestown Village Hall, September 2011

We had another great Soup and Sweet on Sunday 25th of September. There were plenty of people hall all looking forward to their lunch and, as usual, they weren’t disappointed. We served dozens of bowls of home-made, piping hot soup. There was Leak and Tatty, Lentil and Broth, with bread followed by some delicious looking puddings – and there wasn’t much left when we finished.

The parent helpers were great as always and there was the usual level of well-managed madness in the kitchens. Gillan manned the stove, James and Susannah washed more dishes in a couple of hours than most of us do in a year, Dawn, Jan, Nicola, Camilla and Charlotte served the diners with style and grace, Tim and Sandra dished out the soup and puddings while Tim F and Natasha managed the door and collected for the raffle.

The collections on the door and the raffle combined raised just under £500.00 for the Playgroup so a sincere thank you to all those who attended, to all of those who made the food, and to all the helpers who took time out of their weekend to play their parts.
